I paid only after they sent the written package and cancellation terms. Not just a WhatsApp voice note.
For me the deposit was not the issue, the pressure was. I asked them to email the same details: hotel nights, airport transfer, blood test, translator, and what happens if my flight changes. The clinic that answered calmly made me feel safer.
I booked flights first because prices were moving. But I used a flexible ticket, just in case.
