Deposit before video consult?

I am looking at DHI Hair Transplantation in Turkey for March. One clinic wants a small deposit before a proper video call, only after sending photos on WhatsApp. Is that normal? I do not mind paying something if I choose them, but paying before I have heard a clear plan feels strange.

I would ask what the deposit covers and if it is refundable. Written answer, not voice note only.

For me the video consult came before deposit. They still asked for photos first, but the doctor looked at them and then the coordinator explained the schedule. I did not book the fastest clinic, I booked the one that answered boring questions clearly.
