Composite veneers quote changed after photos

I sent photos for Composite Veneer and first they said 10 teeth. After video call they suggested 16, maybe because my smile is wider. I don’t know if this is normal or upselling. The dentist sounded calm and not pushy, but it made the total cost different. Has anyone asked for a written reason for number of teeth? I feel awkward asking but I need to understand before paying deposit.

Not awkward. Ask them to write the options: 10, 12, 16 and what changes visually. Then you can compare properly.

I had similar with bonding, not veneers. The second plan included more teeth because side teeth showed when I smiled. I asked for a mock-up explanation and it helped.
