Question Blepharoplasty Travel

Blepharoplasty in October, worried about flying back alone

Manchester patient
I booked a consultation for Blepharoplasty and I am thinking to travel in October because work is quiet then. I would go alone from Manchester, stay 4 nights, and fly back on day 5 if the clinic says it is okay. My worry is not the operation itself exactly, more the small practical things. Will I be able to manage airport, passport control, carrying a small suitcase, finding the driver, etc. with swelling and sunglasses? The clinic says airport transfer is included, but the return flight is still making me anxious. Also, for people who went alone, did you tell many people at home? I don’t want a big discussion with family before I even decide. But also I feel a bit strange hiding it. Maybe I’m overthinking because the deposit deadline is next week and now everything feels too real.

I would ask the clinic exactly who meets you at discharge and who confirms the return transfer. Names and times helped my anxiety.

I went alone for eyelids last year, not in October but similar plan. The airport part was okay, just slow and annoying. I packed one light cabin bag only and wore a cap plus sunglasses. Nobody cared as much as I imagined. I told one friend at home and sent her my hotel address and clinic contact, which made me feel less secretive.

Deposit deadlines are pressure. If you need two more days to think, ask for it.

Not overthinking. Travel alone is possible, but have a backup person on WhatsApp who knows your schedule. I also printed the hotel address because my phone battery was nearly dead when I landed, and it was such a stupid stress.
