Question Blepharoplasty Recovery

Blepharoplasty swelling and flying back after six days

carefulplanner
I had upper blepharoplasty booked for next month and now I am second guessing my return flight. The clinic said six days is usually okay for check up and then fly home, but I have a work meeting 5 days after I return and I do not want to look very shocking on camera. For people who did eyelid surgery abroad, how visible was the swelling/bruising after one week? I know everyone heals different. I am more asking about planning life, not medical advice. Did sunglasses and a hat feel enough at airport? Did passport control stare? Also did the clinic remove stitches before you left or did you arrange that at home? My schedule now is arrive Monday, consultation Tuesday, surgery Wednesday, check-up Saturday, fly Tuesday morning. Hotel is 12 minutes from clinic according to Google Maps, but in Istanbul traffic maybe that means nothing. I have not paid final balance yet, only deposit. I can extend hotel by 3 nights but it makes the trip more expensive and my partner can only stay the first week. Any realistic experience is welcome. The before/after photos online look neat but they don't show airport day with dry eyes and bad sleep.

I flew home day 7. Nobody at passport control cared, but I looked like I had not slept for a month.

My bruising was still visible at one week, yellow/purple around the sides. Sunglasses helped in the airport but not at hotel breakfast. I had stitches removed before flying, and that was one reason I did not want to leave too early.
