Not childish at all. Recovery logistics are real, especially when both arms are sore or limited.
I went alone for a different body procedure and the hardest part was not pain, it was small tasks. Opening bottles, moving luggage, reaching things in the room. I paid for extra baggage help at the airport and asked the hotel before arrival if they could assist with bags. I would get very specific answers before you decide.
