For LASIK I felt ready only after they sent the surgeon name, machine name, what tests happen before approval, and a simple schedule for the day after. I also asked what happens if they decide I am not suitable after the exam. The clinic that answered that calmly won me over more than the cheapest quote.
I did not ask for more photos because eyes are not like hair or teeth photos to me. I asked who would translate during the examination, how many follow-up checks were included before flying home, and whether I could message the doctor or only the sales coordinator after returning. Small detail: check if the hotel room is quiet/dark enough for resting, not just “nearby.”
